Ms. Stephanie Mitsuko Kimura, a Ph.D. candidate at the London University Institute of Education, came to Junten to conduct a student survey for her research.  Ms.Kimura’s research is related to international understanding and educational development and her focus is on the correlation between the youth’s attitude as a member of the local community and the global communities, and how young people see the “world”. (Ms.Kimura and Junten had a meeting prior to the survey).

Students asked, “why did you choose this for your research topic?”  Ms.Kimura explained the reason,  “Adults make decisions on curricula, so I wanted to know how high school students are feeling about their education.”

Ms.Kimura will let Junten know the survey result later.  Ms.Kimura said that she is hoping to continue her research at Junten next year.  We are also interested in seeing how students’ understanding will deepen and change.
