The First SGH Steering Committee Meeting
June 23, 2014
The SGH Steering Committee is an important body in the SGH project that supports the steering of its decisions, actions and directions. The Committee is made up of scholars and experts with different expertise who are not affiliated with Junten and the Committee evaluates the program and provides constructive suggestion. The SGH application requires the establishment of a steering committee.
The first SGH Steering Committee meeting was help on June 23, 2014.

Members:
Koji Mitani. Professor at K.I.T. Toranomon Graduate School
Jane Best O.B.E. President and C.E.O. at Refugees International Japan
Machiko Okunaga. Executive Secretariat at The Supporting Organization of J.O.C.V.
Akihito Tadokoro. Director of Asia Promotion. Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau.
It was a symbolic meeting, as this was the first time for all the members to meet. After self-introductions, the Committee elected the Chair. Then Principal talked about the Junten educational policies and how Junten obtained the SGH status. The SHG administrators at Junten (Mr.Nakahara/Ms.Miida) showed the SGH Plan and application document that Junten submitted to MEXT and explained it in great detail.
The Committee members provided their opinions and made suggestions for the SGH program for Junten.
