After The Global Week 2020-2021
As a part of the SGH activities of Junten Senior High School, Global Week 2020-2021 was successfully held on Tuesday, November 10, 12 and 13, 2020 and February 19 and 20, 2021. This year marks the fifth time the event has been held, but due to the impact of COVID-19, it was held in a different way from previous years.
During this period, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., researchers, graduate and undergraduate students from universities in Japan and abroad, employees of companies and organizations, Junten Junior and Senior High School students, parents, and faculty members gathered with topics that they wanted to share, and these topic providers, students, and faculty members had the opportunity to learn together about global issues for which there is no right answer.
Thanks to the cooperation of domestic and international universities (High School and University Cooperative Program) and related organizations, 49 topics were presented over 5 days and shared with a total of over 1,050 participants. We would like to thank all of them for their cooperation. We have never had the experience of running such a large number of courses simultaneously on an online system, so there were many problems that only online can bring, but the participants seemed to see this as part of our activities to tackle new questions that have no right answers. We are sure that this valuable learning opportunity gave an opportunity for the students to learn the world outside of their usual school life.
