From August 3rd to 22nd (20 days), 35 senior high school students went to New Zealand. The group first arrived at Aukland, then we were divided into two groups; one group was to go to Kaiapoi High School and the other group goes to Rangiora New Life School. Upon arriving to the local airports, we met their host-families and spend the first weekend with them. From Monday next week, we will join the class with Buddies (local assistants) and will study math, English and acting.

We were split into eight groups. Each group had a theme and gave a presentation according to the theme. This was the first presentation given to foreign audience so the students were pretty nervous. Local students were very much interested in our presentations and asked a lot of questions. 

During the trip, we had an opportunity for a field trip.  At Adrenaline forest, we tried outdoor athletic course. There was a high wire course that we had to go up 20 meter high! At Willow Bank, we saw endangered species, including kiwis and other animals. We also had an opportunity to experience the Maori culture.

On the last day at the local high schools, there was a farewell party, where host-families were also invited. The schools gave us memorabilia and certificate. In return, we danced Yosakoi Dance to show our application to our host families and schools.

On the morning of the 21st, today is the departure day! Everyone was saying good bye to each other.

In Aukland, we visited museums and walked around the city to see the local culture and beautiful streets. Everyone thought that more time is needed!

The twenty-day experience was a chance to learn different culture, meeting new people and communicating in English. It was filled with great learning opportunities.
