Junten Senior High School Year 2 Student : Canada Trip Report
We went to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada from July 25 to August 11 and to attend the Summer Course at St.Michaels High School. 。 (Here is the report on the trip to Canada)

The purpose of the trip is to improve our English communication skills and raise awareness on different cultures. Students were expected to work to develop mutual understanding and cooperation to obtain stronger academic skills. Each student was assigned to stay with one local family so that they can improve their communication skills in English.

In the Summer Program, students studied English in the morning and did field activites in the afternoon. In the lesson, students learned not to be scared about making mistakes and participated in class activities. Their motto was “Don’t be shy!! Have fun and confidence!!”
At the beginning of the Program, students showed a presentation on Japan. At the end of Program, students were able to do a presentation in front of larger audience. Through a variety of lesson activities, students were able to establish good communication skills and made a lot of friends in Canada.

There were two activities in the afternoon: “Fun activities” and “Intellectual activities”. Fun Activities included sightseeing Victoria or sport activities. Intellectual Activities included lectures such as Environmental Studies or Cultural Diversity and Communication at Victoria University and Royal Rose University.

Junten students learned the significance of delivering their thoughts and message regardless of the language difficulties. Through the hands-on experience, students learned about Canada, met people and made friends. furthermore they developed the understanding of coexisting.

The 2nd Year Students will start preparing for their entrance exams from the end of September. A message from their teachers : Don’t be shy!! Have fun and confidence!!
