2nd Year SGH Students Summer Trip Preparation
Since April, 2nd Year Senior High School students have been preparing for their summer trips abroad. The students have been setting plans and goals for their trips, according to their destinations. Their trips will take place next month, so on Saturday, June 10th, all the students who are going on summer trips gathered and had meetings.
Brisbane, Australia Team
The Brisbane, Australia Team will study science and do scientific experiments, so they reviewed the experimental procedures and practiced the experiments they will do abroad. They used Japanese today, but they are planning to translate their procedures into English.
Sydney, Australia Team
The Sydney, Australia Team researched Australia using resources like maps, the internet, and books. Using the information they gathered, they developed a handbook for Japanese students. The handbook is full of thorough explanations about the country and contains beautiful illustrations and photos.

Thailand Team
The Thailand Team worked to identify and organize the topics they want to research during their trip to Thailand. Using their notes, they thought about what topics really interest them.
New Zealand Team
During the New Zealand Team meeting, groups gave presentations on their research plans. Each group has different interests and issues to work on. The exchanging of ideas between groups was stimulating.

Taiwan Team
The Taiwan Team invited a teacher from the Department of Chinese Language at Takushoku University to study Chinese. They learned basic greetings and phrases, which they will use immediately upon arriving. During the Q & A session, students asked about the culture in Taiwan and other things they were concerned about.
Canada Team
The Canada Team worked to plan a “Goodbye Party,” which is scheduled for the last day of the study abroad tour. Students discussed what kinds of activities are appropriate for a cultural exchange.
The students are highly committed to their trips, as shown through their dedication to planning and discussing the study abroad tours. Because they are so well prepared, they will get more out of the opportunity to go abroad. The trips will certainly be a great experience for the students!
