Junten high school students are currently having an in-depth research on topics about the Philippines as part of SGH Global Leaders Action Project (GLAP) – A.  Students are tasked to research on issues concerning about it, including the life of Filipinos working abroad or commonly known as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW).

On February 12th, (Sunday), two first year high school students, Riko Suzuki and Marika Suzuki, core members of GLAP A went to St. Ignatius Church in Yotsuya, Tokyo. The said students are currently researching about Filipinos working abroad especially, in Japan. They are searching for some Filipinos and they know very well that most Filipinos usually go to mass every Sunday as part of their religious faith. The students, in pursuit to meet Filipinos, attended the mass and afterwards interviewed some of them. They asked typical questions on the life of OFW’S in Japan, the reason for working away from the Philippines and how Japan can help foreign workers like the OFW’s.

The students also tried the Filipino’s chicken curry and pancit bihon for lunch and proceed to interviewing some Filipinos. The students seem to enjoy the food and went home feeling productive.
