Junten to Participated in the 5th High School Students’International ESD Symposium and The 2nd National SGH Students’ Meeting 2016
On November 10th, 3 students of 2nd Year Senior High School participated in The 5th High School Students’International ESD Symposium and The 2nd National SGH Students’ Meeting @Tokyo 2016 at the Bunkyo Campus of Tsukuba University.
Twenty SGH schools in Japan, four schools from Thailand, The Philippines and Indonesia attended the Symposium. The visitors of the Symposium came from 20 school across the country.
The symposium took place in the morning. In the afternoon, there was a 45-minute poster presentation session. Two Junten students gave a poster presentation. Their topics were about their field trip to the Philippines and the symposium administrators kindly placed Junten students’ posters next to the Filipino students’ posters.
One of Junten students addressed the challenges of the educational system in the Philippines. She talked about 3T shortage (フィリピンのTeachers, Teaching Rooms, and Textbook are not sufficient)and the 3T issues may have negatively influenced the academic performance in the Philippines. The student received a lot of questions.
Student W said: “I learned a lot from students and teachers who came to see my presentation. I wanted to try my presentation in English, although I exceed the time I was provided.
Student O said: ” I gave a presentation four times. Three of the four times, I used English. I was able to give a good presentation and had a discussion with the visitors. I also asked questions to the visitors, and by doing so, I was able to learn more. “
Student N said: “I met people from all over Japan and the world. I was able to expand my friend network.”
Three student had very fruitful time, and each one of them learned a lot from this opportunity.
