Dr. Ogawa, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies: Research Paper Writing Workshop for 2nd Year SGH Senior High School Students.
After school on Saturday June 25th, the 2nd Year Senior High School students had a research writing workshop provided by Dr. Ogawa from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. Dr. Ogawa has taught Junten SGH students research and academic writing skills and today he focused on a more detailed explanation about research papers.

The creativity of young students is inspiring, but they will be required to transfer their fresh ideas into coherent writing as they advance in their studies. In academic writing, data collection, formatting, and analysis are very important. Dr. Ogawa has developed a research paper format for students who are new to academic writing. In the workshop, students followed the format and learned what should be included in the paper and how to structure the paper.
When students had questions, they used professional research papers or statistics to better understand the facts. Dr.Ogawa taught internet research tips and how to properly cite academic sources.
Students seemed to be a little concerned about writing research papers, which is a challenging task even for university students, but they are required to start writing from this summer.
