APU’s Dr. Kondo to Teach SGH Workshop on Diversity to 1st Year High School Students
On Saturday, June 11th, Class 3, 6 and 7 of the 1st Year Senior High School students had a workshop about diversity and different cultural values hosted by Dr.Yuichi Kondo from Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU). The same workshop was provided to Class 1, 2, 4 and 5 of the 1st Year Students by Dr. Kondo last month. (About the workshop on May 28th.) Two APU graduates joined as Teaching Assistants in the workshop.
The workshop was a great opportunity for the students to explore diversity and different values in other countries. A fictional story was presented by Dr. Kondo and students used the story to think about diversity and identify their own values to compare with their classmates’.
The 1st Year Senior High School students are SGH students, that means they will have opportunities to study or work with people from different cultures. Students learned the basics that they will need to succeed in the SGH program and work in a globalized society.
