On May 10, 2014, Deputy Director for Community and
NGO Partnership Mr. Takehiro Susaki of JICA Tokyo met with Junten students in
GLAP, Junten’s Global Leaders Action Project. Mr. Susaki lectured on his
experiences with JICA particularly and the nature of Japanese assistance to
developing nations generally. His advice to GLAP students: a three-part process
of appreciating diversity in the world around them, identifying their own
unique strengths, and finally participating as members of global society.
Before Junten students can lead global society, they must first join it.
