2017 Christmas Party!

12月15日(金)にSTARS(帰国子女の会)主催のクリスマスパーティーが行われました。バーニー先生の英語による報告です。

On December 15 from 1:30-3:30 Junten students could finally relax and enjoy the Xmas spirit at the E.L.C.’s annual Xmas Party. Unfortunately, many students could not attend due to club activities or other school projects that conflicted with our Xmas Party schedule.
This year’s Xmas Party started with the classic Xmas movie called “Polar Express.” While watching the film students took a Xmas Quiz in order to get their first Xmas chocolate of the party. By taking the Quiz students could learn some new facts about Christmas’s history and culture.

Next on the agenda was the Santa Claus Drawing Contest. Students were given 15 minutes to draw Santa in the best way they could imagine. Afterwards, a panel of judges voted for the top five drawings. These five talented and artistic students were well-awarded with gifts by St. Nick himself as if it was Xmas Eve night. St. Nick by the way was played by a man from the far North of Scotland called Jack. He even dressed up in a Christmas kilt.

For our final Xmas event we played a game called “Pin the Red Nose onto Rudolph the Reindeer.” First a reindeer was drawn on the white board without his nose. Students participating in this event had to be blindfolded then they were spun around three times by St. Nick (Santa Claus). Dizzily they tried to pin the red nose magnet on the white board to the spot where they guessed the nose to be. Three students actually pinned the nose almost to the exact spot where the nose should be. They were so surprised when they took off their blindfolds and they were happily rewarded by St. Nick with the biggest prizes of all.

Although the members of our party were reduced in number this year still a great time was had by all and St. Nick (Santa Claus) was so generous in his giving of Xmas treats that everyone left in glee. Well, until next year have yourself a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!
